TRANSPORT UPDATE: Our next available transport date is July 6th. Due to staff shortages, the ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance reduced the number of surgeries they can perform. We will update our website as soon as we know our July surgery dates.

08/11/2021 - Mahjong Fund Raiser at Bosu's. We held a fund raising MahJong Tournament at Bosu’s wine store and bar, located at 138 Miller Street in Waynesville on Wednesday, August 11th. We had 40 participants who enjoyed a delicious lunch and a competitive, fun tournament. And the winners are:
Donna Scott was the big winner!
Sheila Thompson-Mathis took second place.
Joy Davis finished in third place.




2/25/2020- SPAYgetti and No Meatballs celebration a big hit . Haywood Spay/ Neuter held it’s 2nd annual World Spay Day, “SPAYgetti and No Meatballs” celebration dinner at the Maggie Valley Club on February 25. Over ninety friends of Haywood Spay/Neuter shared an Italian dinner, consisting of a delicious pasta bar with tiramisu. It was a relaxing evening with friends sitting at tables of 8. 1/15/20 — Grant to Fund Affordable Spay/Neuter for pets Haywood Spay/Neuter (HS/N) is pleased to announce that they have received a prestigious Bernice Barbour Foundation grant to assist with spay and neuter services. The Bernice Barbour Foundation supports initiatives that are focused on addressing the pet overpopulation crisis in this country. Through their generosity HS/N will be able to provide cost-free spay and neuter services to those that financially qualify through their annual spring “Beat the Heat” program.

8/12/19 — The Mayors of Boojum Presiding as the Dog Mayor at Boojum Taproom is such a “ruff” job they decided to pick two co-mayors this year (not to mention they tied in funds raised for Haywood Spay/Neuter). 06/13/18 — Yappy Hour Fundraiser Success. The inaugural “Yappy Hour” fundraiser, held by Haywood Spay/Neuter (HSN) last Friday, had a sold-out crowd of over 160 people. The event, which had over 31 individual and business sponsors (including the host venue Maggie Valley Club and Resort), was not only successful, but served to spread the word about the important services that HSN provides. 06/12/18 — Roxy's Fund - On June 8th , Haywood Spay/Neuter announced the start of Roxy’s Fund at their successful Yappy Fund raiser at Maggie Valley Country Club. Roxy, who was the “keynote speaker, is a PTSD service dog for a disabled vet. She met all the attendees at Yappy Hour and made quite an impression. Roxy’s Fund will provide free surgery, rabies and micro chips for those veterans who qualify for the program. More...
